Lauren Lyons, Caro Flores, and Nico Orlandi have won a $20,000 grant from the American Philosophical Association to continue the highly successful Queer Analytic Philosophy Conference. Together with colleagues around the country, they will aim to turn the conference into an annual, rotating event. Here is the announcement.
Additionally, Sara Bernstein and Nico Orlandi have won a grant from the International Society of Social Ontology to hold a workshop on Social Categories of the Future. Recent years have seen an explosion of philosophical work on social categories, including gender, race, and sexual orientation. But little attention has been paid to what these and other categories might look like in the 30, 50, or 100 years. This workshop will bring together scholars to discuss this issue.
