2008 EOP Faculty Mentor Program

The Faculty Mentor Program, sponsored by EOP, is a two-quarter undergraduate research intensive in which undergrad students work with a faculty mentor to develop their own research project or participate in their faculty mentor's ongoing research. It is like an independent study except FMP fellows are enrolled in a 5 unit course with three overlapping objectives: to teach them the 'nuts and bolts' of the graduate school application process; to guide them in the construction of a research project through writing assignments; and to provide practice in engaging the academic conversations of their chosen field of inquiry.

We are excite to announce that we have added a writing component to the FMP seminar in the form of a 2-unit writing lab. This writing-intensive option will give FMP fellows the opportunity to receive additional instruction in writing more effectively within their discipline or field.

The FMP application deadline to Friday November 16th. Interested students can call EOP at 459 2296 or stop by the EOP office for an application or more information.
