Welcome to the Philosophy Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Our undergraduate program leads to a B.A. in Philosophy. A minor in philosophy is also available. The graduate program offers both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The UCSC Philosophy Department offers students the opportunity to study both the analytic and continental traditions, and the UCSC campus provides one of the most inspiring places in the world to study philosophy.

The Philosophy Department is moving!
During retrofit construction on the Cowell Dining Hall, the Philosophy Department offices will move from their current location (4 and 5 Cowell Commons) to Stevenson College, rooms 231 and 235. This move will take place May 9. The office is generally open weekdays from 8-12 and 1-5, Pacific time, but during the move be sure to contact us first to check that we're in.

We are in the process of moving and may not be in the office. We can also let you know about philosophy classes that you can visit during your stay.
